After seeing the unremarkable but somewhat enjoyable second feature (The X-Files: I Want to Believe) a few weeks ago, I noticed that the Blu-ray release had an interesting feature: “The X-Files: The Complete Timeline”. This extensive episode guide contains information on every episode of the series, with character relations, themes, and other cross-referencing methods, including a season guide and historical chronology of the entire mythology presented in the series. It’s been a while since I watched “The X-Files” series, but I own all of them on DVD. So I figured, why not make 2009 a “Year of X-Files”?
There are 202 episodes of “The X-Files”, plus two feature films. It’s kinda ambitious, I admit, but I aim to watch the entire series over the course of 2009. I won’t do any blog updates for every viewing, like I did with Bondfest 2006, but I will make entries when I finish off each season. As I am still sick (urgh), I am beginning Season One, Disc One today – and will likely watch more than one episode.
