X-Men 2 Scoring Session – Part Three

Dan Showbiz

Went back to Fox, for the last and final scoring session for X-Men 2. As this was a pick-up session, the orchestra was smaller (“only” 72-pieces), and the cues were significantly smaller. It was overall much more low-key than the previous sessions I’d attended in the past few weeks. After lunch (sushi – mmm!), I accompanied Ottman and a few others to the post-production facility (the stage next door), and saw how they mix the soundtrack of a film. Suffice it to say, it’s not as glamourous as it might seem. In fact, it might even be considered a little boring. Dialogue editing might seem exciting when projected on your very own movie theater, but after a while, it gets to be a bit of a yawner. Still, the guys there are doing great work, and I look forward to the final product in May!
