Today I went to the scoring session for John Singleton’s latest flick, 2 Fast 2 Furious, the sequel to the hit 2001 film, The Fast and the Furious. I gotta say, this film looks like a lot of fun. Car chases up the wazoo, and plenty of action. Scoring the film is composer David Arnold, fresh off of his action score to Die Another Day. The score is a fusion of hip-hop beats and orchestra, done in a way only David can pull off successfully. It was really cool to hear the blaring brass, swirling strings and chest-thumping rhythms, Bond style (but without being Bond, of course). Arnold was a true pleasure to chat with, and Singleton was really cool as well. Hopefully I’ll get to visit them again when I get back from Boston, next week. Check out pictures in my photo gallery!
