Advat is a Nabatean city in the middle of the Negev Desert. Once an outpost for the Nabateans, along the Spice Route, it is now a ruined city on a mountaintop. We were here 22 years ago, so it was really cool to check it out and let the memories come back (which they did). But man, it’s HOT out here. Dry, and hot. And quiet – you can’t hear anything except the wind, your breathing, and the occasional truck passing by on the freeway 1 mile away. We looked around a little bit, took some pictures, then got back into the (now broiling) car to continue our drive south to get some lunch.
