Today I went to an “Alias” scoring session, courtesy of Chris Tilton. I’ve never seen “Alias”, but I’m a big fan of Michael Giacchino’s work, and was looking forward to finally meeting him and the gang. The session was tight – only 3 hours long, in the crammed space of Studio A in the Capitol Records building. Musically, it was fun – a lot of sleuthy string work, with flute and bassoon, and limited brass. After the session, we went to grab some lunch, and had a really nice chat about film music, the industry, and other assorted things. All in all, it was a lot of fun, and I hope I get to go to another session soon!
