The Big Picture at the Hollywood Bowl

Dan Showbiz

Tonight’s show at the Hollywood Bowl was “The Big Picture: The Music of MGM/UA” led by resident conductor John Mauceri. I’ll be putting up details in my article on SoundtrackNet later on, but for the most part, it was a pretty decent concert. Music from films like Hawaii, West Side Story, The Pink Panther, Rocky, City Lights, The Magnificent Seven, and of course, James Bond, were on the roster. One of the encores was Sheena Easton singing “For Your Eyes Only”, and her voice hasn’t really kept too well in the past 20 years…. eeks!! Anyways, more to come later, but we sat in a box next to “Arliss” himself, Robert Wuhl. Had to take Presby back to Glendora from Hollywood, and then drive all the way back to West LA from there! I put like 200 miles on my car. Eeks!!
