We had a surprise party tonight for grandma’s 80th birthday. Relatives from California came in, as well as friends from Florida. It was about 40 people or so, and it was a really nice treat. She was utterly surprised – couldn’t believe it! Pix are up here. The food, which was catered, was amazing. The appetizers consisted of a spread of bread, vegetables, hummous, taramasalada, artichoke dip, chopped liver, a roasted mushroom dip, and other assorted things. The meal was roast beef with bernaise sauce, and salmon with a dill cream sauce. Heavenly. This was topped off by dessert, consisting of the cake – which was a strawberry shortcake cake sent from the gods. Top it off with some coffee, and it’s another filling night!
