Rio de Sangre

Dan Showbiz

Tonight was the world-premiere of the new opera by Matrix composer Don Davis: Rio de Sangre. (hey, I built that site!) It was really cool – definitely a complex modern work, and those who know me know that I’m not a big opera fan – and I still dug it. The subtitles projected above the orchestra and Los Angeles Masters Chorale certainly helped!

Chris and I skipped out on Faure’s Requiem, because we were hungry, and he was treating me to dinner at Pacific Dining Car. It was a really good dinner, and the Heirloom Tomato Salad was awesome. Following that came the Baseball Steak, a heavenly mound of medium-rare cow. No food for me tomorrow!!
