After recovering from my nap (jetlag – woohoo!), I went to the New Balance Factory Outlet and got me some shoes! My old sneakers are now retired (i.e. trashed), since they were seriously worn down. Afterwards, I met up with Mike at Peet’s Coffee. We haven’t really seen each other since he and his brother were in Los Angeles 4 years ago, so it was really nice to catch up.
I then braved rush hour traffic to get to Liz and Josh’s place, and then we headed over to pick up Sam in Arlington. We went to a cool pizza restaurant called Za, which only serves pizza and salad. The pizza was really good! We got four pies (each one is 10″) and shared them:  Fresh Figs, Sweet Onion, Gorgonzola, and EVOO with Parsley and White Truffle Oil.  Smoked Misty Knoll Farm’s Organic Turkey, Apple Butter, Diced Verrill Farm’s Macoun Apples, Sweet Onion, Cheddar Cheese, Pickled Cranberries, and Eva’s Sage.  Portabello Mushroom, Roasted Red Pepper, Caramelized Onion, Roasted Garlic, and Goat Cheese.  Tomato and Mozzarella + Roasted Garlic, Homemade Sausage, and Applewood Smoked Bacon. Mmmm mmm!!
Afterwards, we hung out at Liz’s – she made some lime bars for dessert, which were quite tasty. I got the recipe now (as well as a superspecial chocolate chip recipe – woohoo!) so I might give it a go when I get back to LA.
