New Balance Peet's Za

After recovering from my nap (jetlag – woohoo!), I went to the New Balance Factory Outlet and got me some shoes! My old sneakers are now retired (i.e. trashed), since they were seriously worn down. Afterwards, I met up with Mike at Peet’s Coffee. We haven’t really seen each other since he and his brother were in Los Angeles 4 years ago, so it was really nice to catch up.

I then braved rush hour traffic to get to Liz and Josh’s place, and then we headed over to pick up Sam in Arlington. We went to a cool pizza restaurant called Za, which only serves pizza and salad. The pizza was really good! We got four pies (each one is 10″) and shared them: [1] Fresh Figs, Sweet Onion, Gorgonzola, and EVOO with Parsley and White Truffle Oil. [2] Smoked Misty Knoll Farm’s Organic Turkey, Apple Butter, Diced Verrill Farm’s Macoun Apples, Sweet Onion, Cheddar Cheese, Pickled Cranberries, and Eva’s Sage. [3] Portabello Mushroom, Roasted Red Pepper, Caramelized Onion, Roasted Garlic, and Goat Cheese. [4] Tomato and Mozzarella + Roasted Garlic, Homemade Sausage, and Applewood Smoked Bacon. Mmmm mmm!!

Afterwards, we hung out at Liz’s – she made some lime bars for dessert, which were quite tasty. I got the recipe now (as well as a superspecial chocolate chip recipe – woohoo!) so I might give it a go when I get back to LA.
