Battlestar Galactica Live Concert

Dan Showbiz

Last night I went to the “Music of Battlestar Galactica” live concert at The Roxy in Hollywood. Hosted by La-La Land Records and Cinemedia Promotions, composer Bear McCreary pulled together a lot of the musicians who play on the show, and filled the night with music and revelry. Hosted by James Callis (Dr. Gaius Baltar), the evening started out with Bear’s brother Brandon (aka BT4) and his band opening with a few songs, before Bear took the stage. The music was loud but good, and the key show musicians were performing, including Steve Bartek on guitar, Johnny Vatos on drums, Chris Bleth on duduk and woods, and MB Gordy on taiko and percussion. A small string quartet helped fill a few things out, as well as a few other musicians. It was a very long evening, but it was a lot of fun, and I took over 1,300 photos. I was able to toss out almost 1,000 of those, and the remainder are all up on my web gallery for your enjoyment.
