Heroes for Autism

Tonight I went to the charity event “Heroes for Autism“. Sponsored by Autism Speaks, the event was a noble one to raise money and awareness of Autism.  There was an open bar and food before the show started, and I got a chance to rub elbows with many of the celebs there.  And there was an open bar.  The event was hosted by Rainn Wilson of “The Office”, and most of the cast of “Heroes” showed up, including Robert Forster.  And there was an open bar.

The show started late, at 7:30pm, with Greg Grunberg’s “Band from TV” (sans Hugh Laurie), and by they finished, it was 9pm.  After a 30-min break,  Wendy & Lisa finally came on to play music from “Heroes”.  A rumor had also been circulating that Prince was going to show – so even though I had to be in bed early (needed to wake up at 5:30am to get to the airport in the morning), I decided to stay just in case.  Unfortunately, after one song from “Heroes”, Wendy & Lisa played a bunch of their own songs for another hour or so… and then that was it.

It was a fun evening, and rather tiring.  I had hoped for more music from the show – but at least there was an open bar.
