The Robe

Dan Graphic Design

When I was tasked with doing the art direction for the soundtrack to a Golden Age film, I wanted to go as clean and elegant as I could, befitting the source material.  Alfred Newman’s score to The Robe is a gorgeous one, and as the film was a period epic (and the first CinemaScope film), I wanted to lay out the booklet as though it were an LP from the era.  That meant adjusting the key art for the cover to fit nicely, working with a clean font on a light background (with subtle marble texturing).  I’m quite happy with how it turned out, and I’m learning a lot more about InDesign.
