Digging into "H"

Dan Audio Projects

I’m up to “Horner” now. I have over 1,000 CDs digitized, and it’s “only” taking up 70GB of hard drive space. I think I’m on track to using about 220GB of space when all is said and done. Tha should be what I estimated, more or less. I also converted another laserdisc this weekend, the theatrical cut of Blade Runner from the Criterion laserdisc. The disc wasn’t in the best condition to begin with, so the image is only alright, …

Goldsmith in a Box

Dan Audio Projects

This weekend I hung out with Mike on Friday night, and we watched The Omen after a tasty meal at Outlaws. Saturday I drove all the way up to Sierra Madre to meet Taylor for brunch, then spent the afternoon getting some work done, and working on another PAL to NTSC transfer. Saturday night, hung out with Big Sheb, and we watched Underworld, which was surprisingly entertaining. It’s not a great movie, by any means, but it’s stylized and rather …

Done with "C"

Dan Audio Projects

Wow. I actually managed to finish off the “C” section this weekend. That’s over 400 CDs digitized. I really need to get that other hard drive soon…. “D” is gonna take a while (especially with Danna, Davis, Debney, Delerue, etc…) but I might be able to finish off that whole bookshelf (which goes D-F) by the end of the month, easily. I just need to get the drive!

Done with "B"

Dan Audio Projects

I finished the “B” section of my CD collection. This was substantial, comprising of 233 albums, including all of the John Barry, Bruce Broughton, Elmer Bernstein, and Carter Burwell CDs. Whew! I am still dreading the moment I get to “G” – that’s gonna suck! I will start in on “C” and hopefully have it done by the end of the month. (I have a lot of George S. Clinton CDs!)

Digitizing Beck

Dan Audio Projects

I’ve digitized about 130 albums since thursday night, and just completed the Christophe Beck section. Whew. The John Barry section was huge; I decided to pull out the James Bond albums and do them later, especially since I have all of the remastered ones. (Why put the old ones up at all, then?) This is tough work; a lot of these CDs are promos or are not listed in the FreeDB, so I have to type all the tracks in …
