I just launched another simple site, this time for composers Sarah and Justin Carter. They needed something for their company, Rhythm & Noise Productions, that would act as an online demo page for each of them. There was quite a bit of back and forth getting the design locked down, and then it came together pretty quickly!
Just launched a quick and straightforward website for composer Scott Reed. When I say it’s a simple site, I really mean it – one page, with a short bio, rotating “testimonials”, and an audio player. I also used a subcontractor to do the design, just to try out what that’s like. While the result is fine, I’m not sure I like being cut out of the creative process…
My latest web design project is a custom WordPress theme for composer Geoff Zanelli. This seems to be the way to go, with a straightforward audio player on the home page, and project detail pages with Advanced Custom Fields (or Magic Fields, depending on your needs). I like the straightforward monochromatic feel that it gives, and because it’s in WordPress, it’s super-easy for Geoff and his team to do their own updates.
Back in 1999, after I had been doing web design for folks in the film music industry for a little bit, I worked on a design mockup for the Kraft-Benjamin-Engel Management agency. They represent film composers, and it would have been a great gig. While it didn’t ultimately go anywhere, a few years later I was hired to create the Finding Kraftland website for agent Richard Kraft, and then we just put up a simple one-page site for what was now …
My latest website project to launch is a gallery-based website for fashion designer Linzi Kofsky. Linzi needed a site that would showcase her portfolio, and allow her easy access to update it on her own. WordPress was the framework, of course, and NextGen Gallery (with some custom modifications) helped give her the flexibility that she needed.
Launched a new website that I have been working on for a month or so, for up-and-coming composer Chad Rehmann who I met at this year’s ASCAP Film & TV Music Workshop. This WordPress-based website contains a custom music database and is set up to allow the client to do all of the updates on his own.
This week I launched a new redesigned website for composer Christopher Lennertz. Aside from a snazzy new look to the website, it was completely done in WordPress, allowing for easier updates. Where the old website had just a list of credits, now we have individual project pages, allowing for audio tracks, album details, purchase links, and more. Also put some nice connectivity to Facebook and Twitter, since social media is all-the-rage these days.
Just finished and launched a new WordPress-based website for the new independent feature film Shuffle, written/directed by Kurt Kuenne and starring TJ Thyne (of “Bones” fame).
Just launched a new website based in WordPress for my friend Adam Sikorski, who is an exceptionally talented photographer. The challenge in this one wasn’t the design template, it was the gallery! I think it worked out nicely, based on a NextGen Gallery framework.
Just launched the website for A Symphony of Hope: The Haiti Project. The brainchild of composer Christopher Lennertz, the idea was to take 25 film composers and create a symphonic work based on a traditional Haitian melody. Proceeds from sales of the resulting album will be sent to the Hands Together charity to benefit Haitian earthquake victims. I built the site with a WordPress framework, and heavily modified a pre-existing template. The biggest challenge on the site was to connect …
