Woohoo! I won this at the RMA silent auction tonight. The photo is not the best quality, since the damn reflections in the frame made it hard to get a good angle. But you can see what I’m excited about!
My newest poster addition
Picked this up yesterday from Mel’s office, and it’s now hanging proudly on my wall.
My latest addition!
Very happy to have this hanging on my wall today.
eBay Gold!
Yeah right, I wonder how much this would really go for on eBay!!!
James Horner
I just got a bunch of my favorite James Horner soundtracks signed, which was very gracious of James to do for me. You’ll note that Titanic is not among these, but Aliens is. This should be no surprise to those who know me.
Lost: Season One
A few weeks back I finally got my Lost Season One DVD set back. My friend Sean was kind enough to have JJ Abrams and Damon Lindelof (series creators and producers) sign it for me. JJ is a funny guy, that’s for sure!
Batman Begins
All I need now is my Batman Forever soundtrack to be signed by Elliot Goldenthal, and I’ll have a complete collection of signed Batman feature film soundtracks! (Well, not counting the 1960’s Nelson Riddle film score.) In case you can’t read it, James Newton Howard wrote: “To Dan Goldwasser*, Thanks for your support! James Newton Howard”. A month or so later, Hans Zimmer wrote “To Dan Goldwasser**, Thanks for supporting James. Hans Z.” Ah, what a good sense of humor …
An Impossible Contest
Next month, on SoundtrackNet, I will run a contest for Mission: Impossible 3. The prizes will most likely include the soundtrack album, but five lucky winners will also get a signed score sheet: Signatures are: Michael Giacchino (composer), JJ Abrams (director/writer), Tim Simonec (conductor/orchestrator), Dan Wallin (mixer), Larry Kenton (orchestrator), Chris Tilton (orchestrator), and Stephen Davis (music editor). Snazzy!!
Lost
This one might be a bit hard to read: It says: Dan, I’m not supposed to tell you this, but this guy is the one behind everything! – Michael Giacchino. (He made the “O” in the title into a man with his mouth open.) Then, conductor/orchestrator Tim Simonec made the “L” into a baton, and wrote “My baton, Tim Simonec” And finally, show creator J.J. Abrams signed his name – but only after writing what he thought of Michael. 🙂 …
Final Destination 3
This week I was at the Final Destination 3 scoring session, music composed by Shirley Walker. It was a lotta fun, and the movie looks like a delightful romp of Rube Goldberg-inspired “accidents”. Just remind me not to go to Magic Mountain for a while…. Director Jim Wong signed my Final Destination DVD (couldn’t scan it because of the shiny cover), and I also got Shirley to sign my Batman: Mask of the Phantasm CD, which was very nice of …
