Blazing Saddles
Well it’s been pre-announced: the soundtrack to Blazing Saddles will be released next Tuesday! I co-produced the album along with MV Gerhard at La-La Land Records, and wrote the extensive liner notes. I’m very proud of my work on this album, so be sure to go get it!
A Bit of Brooks
I’ve been working on a project for the past few months that has required me – once again – to interview one of the funniest men alive, Mr. Mel Brooks. It was a lengthy interview – it was supposed to run about 30 minutes long, but went for about 1.5 hours. Blazing Brooks History
Tonight I went to the Aero Theater in Santa Monica to an American Cinematheque screening of Mel Brooks’ Blazing Saddles and History of the World, Part I. Seeing Blazing with a packed crowd was a blast, and Mel spoke in between the two films. He’s 81, but sharp as a tack, and still damn funny. History was okay, not as good as I remembered it being.
